Hi there,

It’s not quite the end of the month but I’m getting in early to share the latest news from PaperCut. Because there’s loads! Read on for the lowdown.

Our major focus this month is Premium Upgrade Assurance (PUA). We’re asking you to revisit your customer base and encourage them to renew PUA. By the way, have you seen this PUA brochure yet? Share it far and wide!

Meanwhile, we’re changing the way you log in to the PaperCut Portal in early May. Make sure you know what’s coming (and why).

And finally, PaperCut MF 18.1 launched to the world this week. Spread the word with your customers - there’s loads of goodness packed into this release.

Have a great month ahead.

Quick wins with PUA renewals

Our major focus this month is PUA. We’re asking you to revisit your customer base and encourage them to renew Premium Upgrade Assurance (PUA).

There’s a couple of compelling reasons why ALL PaperCut customers should have valid PUA - read on to see what they are. While you’re clicking links, check out the brand new PUA brochure and recent blog post you can share with your customers.

Portal login changes are coming

Early next month we’re making changes to the way you log in to the PaperCut Portal.

When you log in with the credentials you’ve used up until now, you’ll be prompted to change to an individual login - using your business email account. This change is necessary to ensure we’re compliant with the new GDPR privacy legislation soon to come into effect.

It’s also the first of a number of changes we’re making to improve your PaperCut Portal experience. Stay tuned as we roll these out!

Questions? Contact sales@papercut.com and we’ll help you out as always.

18.1 is here

18.1

Yesterday we released PaperCut MF 18.1 - woohoo! Here’s some of what’s new:

Release highlights:

  • Effortless Scan to Cloud Storage (now including OneDrive Personal and Business)
  • Supporting end-to-end encryption on the network
  • New HP Pro (Fast Release) solution
  • All new embedded application for Fuji Xerox ApeosPort VI devices

Also, we’ve made a few fixes to print archiving, Kyocera and Ricoh SmartSDK since channel availability a couple of weeks back. You can read more in the release notes and download the latest version in the PaperCut Portal.

Together with the PUA initiative, this is a great time to follow-up customers with lapsed PUA.

Spread the word!

What does “high availability” really mean?

David O’Hara from our Americas Technical Services team has written a great KB article all about “high availability”. It’s a great buzzword in our industry, but do you really know what it means and why you should care about it?

Let our expert David guide you through it all! And if you love the article, remember to share it with your own network using the social media buttons at the top right of the article.

New blogs

We’ve posted some super blogs in the past few weeks. Matt Lee from our UK Technical Services team has warned about the dangers of not thinking through software updates properly. Meanwhile, Tanner Dull from our US Pre-Sales team has shared his story about HITRUST in what is set to become a regular blog series that we call #NADM - Never a Dull Moment. (I didn’t come up with that name, by the way - blame the blog editor).

As with all our blogs, we encourage you to share them on your own social media networks by clicking on the icon buttons we provide next to the story.

And, if you have a great blog post idea or story you’d like us to create with you, contact our Comms Manager, Alistair Nestor (just call him Al) at stories@papercut.com (he’s the one who thinks “Never a Dull Moment” is hilarious).

Heads up for changes we're making to Konica Minolta devices with iOption

When PaperCut MF 18.2 rolls out later this year, we'll be introducing a much-improved user interface for Konica Minolta devices with iOption. These changes will create a better user experience and bring the look and feel into line with the latest PaperCut MF UI standards.

This'll mean we'll no longer be able to support PaperCut MF on the following Konica Minolta devices with iOption:

C650, C550, C451/C353, C253, 751, 601/501, 421, 361/C652, C552, C452/C652DS, C552DS/C360, C280, C220/423, 363, 283, 223/602, 502, 652, 552.

These devices will only be usable with PaperCut MF in the "native" non-browser UI mode. If you have any questions, please email products@papercut.com

Tech training

Hopefully you and your team are still having fun learning all the great tech stuff on our new Learning Management System (LMS).

Have you noticed the latest LMS feature? Transcripts! If you’re the type who prefers to learn by reading instead of watching, this feature’s for you. It also helps out any techs who may be hearing impaired.

Now you can either listen or read along (or both) and still work towards the same Level 1 Tech Certification.
